Kyrenia – Ferry Lines

Ferry Lines From Northern Cyprus to Turkey

For those of you who may be interested in taking a ferry whilst holidaying in Kyrenia, you will be happy to know that there are ferry boats and sea buses that connect Northern Cyprus with Turkey.

From Kyrenia there are scheduled sea buses and ferry services that travel to Tasucu in Turkey.  Sea buses operate daily and the duration of the journey will take approximately two and a half hours.  Ferry buses run weekly and the duration of this trip is approximately four hours.  During summer months, boat trips are also arranged to take holiday makers to some of Turkey’s hot spots including Alanya, Antalya, and Anamur.  These boat trips are ideal for those who wish to combine a shopping trip to Turkey into their holiday in Northern Cyprus.

Ferry boats also operate three times a week from Famagusta in Northern Cyprus to Mersin in Turkey and there are also some ferry boats that go to Tasucu.  The ferry boat to Tasucu however, takes approximately eight hours so it is advisable to travel to Kyrenia first if you wish to visit Tasucu as the journey from here is much shorter.

There are two main companies that provide sea journeys between Northern Cyprus and Turkey and these are, Akgunler Shipping and Fergun Shipping.  Fergun Shipping provides a fast ferry service, and a car ferry boat service.  Akgunler Shipping provides the same.  If you would like to book a ferry trip whilst you are on holidays, you can contact both companies for rates and schedules.
